The Georgia Bulldogs have some fascinating matchups on their schedule headed into the 2026 season, a schedule they will likely have to win double digit games against in order to not miss the College Football Playoff.

Of course, this means they cannot drop more than two games in the regular season, which as always in the SEC will be a challenge. Some challenges present more of a chance for a loss than others though, and one of Georgia's most dangerous ones comes early in the season on the road.

Once again, the Bulldogs will face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the regular season, and after losing at home in 2025, they will attempt this year to leave Bryant-Denny Stadium with a win for the first time since 2007.

Georgia Has to Travel to Tuscaloosa

It will only be their third attempt since that 2007 overtime victory where the Bulldogs defeated Nick Saban's first Alabama team 26-23, but the last two have proven unsuccessful both in 2020 and 2024 for Kirby Smart.

Of course, if he hadn't already proved it, the SEC Championship in Atlanta provided more than enough proof that Smart's program reigns supreme over the Tide since Kalen DeBoer has taken over, but this is still going to be an extremely difficult place to win.

DeBoer's offense came into Sanford Stadium last season and completely undressed Smart's defense in the first half, which proved to be enough to ultimately win the game.

Alabama will have a new quarterback this time around in either Austin Mack or Keelon Russell, both of whom are capable of running an effective offense once again surrounded by some quality playmakers.

This may not be a team the quality of the ones in the apex of the Saban dynasty, however they are still going to be a national title threat and the crowd in Tuscaloosa will be loud and impactful.

Ultimately, on paper Georgia is the better team and this would be a wonderful chance to break the losing streak in Bryant-Denny, but as is always the case when these two programs meet, it's going to be an absolute battle.

This game marks a real midpoint of the season for the Bulldogs and could set them off on a course of dominating the rest of their schedule on the way to Atlanta once again or force them to get off the mat and rally after another heartbreaking defeat.

They don't get better than this though, and fans are going to be absolutely ecstatic to get another crack at Alabama on the road.
