Georgia Tech has landed another 2027 commitment and it is not just for football.
Today, two-sport athlete Deshawn Dillon, who plays at Northwest Rankin High School in Flowood, MS, committed to the Yellow Jackets over Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Dillon is going to play football and basketball and is a high-level player in both sports. This is a commitment that is going to make both Brent Key and Scott Cross happy and give them a young, talented player to work with.

What kind of prospect is Dillon?
The thing that stands out the most about Dillon is his explosiveness. Whether it is making plays as a receiver or a as a guard getting to the rim, Dillon can get the job done.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Dillon (as a football prospect) ranks as the No. 524 player in the country, the No. 71 wide receiver in the country, and the No. 13 player in the state of Mississippi. The 6'3 170 -LB athlete also had other offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Missouri, Florida State, and Oklahoma, among others.
As a basketball prospect, 247Sports ranks Dillon as the No. 127 prospect in the country, the No. 22 shooting guard prospect, and the No. 2 player in the state of Mississippi.
While his playmaking and offensive skill on the hardwood stand out, scouts and analysts believe that Dillon's true potential on the basketball court is on the defensive end. Dillon plays with a certain kind of physicality that is hard to ignore and does not allow anyone to get around him. I think that could allow him to see the court quicker than anticipated when he arrives at The Flats.
This commitment is Georgia Tech's 27th for its 2027 football recruiting class, a class that ranks 26th in the country according to 247Sports. Their 2027 basketball class currently ranks 4th in the country and has a pair of four-star commitments, including Dillon.
