The Michigan Wolverines landed a big transfer addition when former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Troy Bowles committed to the Wolverines ahead of the 2025 college football season.

Bowles, the son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles, made a strong impact with Michigan in 2025. He posted 27 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble as the Wolverines went 9-4 with a Citrus Bowl loss to the Texas Longhorns.

Bowles is already having a career year in 2026. The senior linebacker has 25 tackles, which is the most on the Wolverines. Bowles had nine tackles and fumble recovery in Michigan's Week 2 win over the Oklahoma Sooners, who Georgia will play in Week 4.

Bowles is an important player for Michigan's defense, which has been the Wolverines' strength to start the 2026 season. It would be interesting to know if anybody at Georgia gave Bowles a call this past week to get first-hand information on Oklahoma's offense. The Sooners play Georgia on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m. ET while Michigan plays against Iowa at the same time on Saturday.
