Georgia football linebacker Justin Williams and defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye picked up some new suits for the first Dawg Walk of the season.

It comes Saturday when Georgia hosts Tennessee State.

“We’re very excited to play somebody else,” Williams said. “We’ve been playing the offense for a long time now. Even in the summer we were doing a lot against the offense. As far as the defense, we’re really excited to be connected and go show our passion on the field and show the fans want they paid for.”

Tennessee State coach Reggie Barlow thinks his players will be geared up for the major challenge the No. 3 Bulldogs present.

“You respect all your opponents, and you fear none,” Barlow said. “You get a chance to go and play against a team like this, an opponent like this with really good players, you get a chance to see how you measure up. If you listen to these guys talk, they all were offered by these schools or had a chance to go there and something happened. Now you get a chance to play against these guys. We always play to win the game. …We’re going to play, we’re going to compete.”

Georgia 51, Tennessee State 3: The Tigers are 0-4 against SEC teams, but gave Vanderbilt a scare in 2018 in a 31-27 Commodores win under Derek Mason. Georgia is at a different level. The Bulldogs don't really think too much of opponents because they want to play to their own standard. They will in this one.

Georgia 35, Tennessee State 7: Kirby Smart said Monday they’re looking forward to playing someone other than themselves. The itch is there, for fans and players alike, and it sounds like only thing that could slow them down is the heat.

Georgia 56, Tennessee State 10: Tennessee State is extremely fortunate this game was scheduled for this season and not last. It would have really been ugly had it been played in 2025. Yes, uglier than 56-10. Transfer QB Daylin Lee has at least given the Tigers a sibilance of an offensive attack that was sorely missing last season and may allow TSU to move the ball at times, pick up a few first downs and avoid a complete disaster.
