Grab your popcorn; September 19th is here. The Week 3 SEC slate is exactly what the doctor needed. We had to sleep through the “undefeated” Week 1 matchups and watch as the eyes of Texas shined over the Buckeyes. The Week 3 SEC slate is exactly what CFB fans needed. We have telenovela drama as Lane travels back to Oxford. Someone alert the Texas A&M police: Kentucky is headed to College Station; no word on whether BBN keeps drinking. Texas will try to hold onto the top spot in the country and look to outsmart the Roadrunners.

SEC Week 3 Picks
What happened in Ann Arbor? The Sooners cost us a second straight week of perfection last weekend. Someone call Bill Simmons’ proxies; we are on a heater. We are leaning heavily on the afternoon and evening slate this Saturday.
Week 2 Picks: 4-1
Overall: 9-1
- NC State at Vanderbilt: Life after Diego is messy. Sure, Vandy is 0-2, and it took a lot to hold off Delaware last week (enough said). This week, Vandy will turn to five-star quarterback Jared Curtis as QB1. It was a shock to see Curtis not open the season as the starter. The one-time Georgia commit is one of the few five-star QBs that Vandy has ever been able to lock down.
Pick: NC State - Florida State at No. 10 Alabama: The storyline for this game has very little to do with what happens on the field or even the SEC. We and many others are thinking Alabama will Roll. Ok, we were burned last year and almost last week… but we digress. Mike Alford is out at FSU’s AD. It now seems like a matter of time before FSU’s Norvell is shown the door and the 2026 coaching carousel starts to spin.
Pick: Vandy - Mississippi State at South Carolina: This might be the low-key game of the weekend. Not bad for two teams that could win a combined ten games in 2025. Both have talented young quarterbacks and explosive offenses. Jeff Lebby is 1-15 in the SEC as head coach of the Bulldogs. Look for number two to put Shane Beamer on the SEC hot seat.
Pick: Hail State - Florida at Auburn: It’s the battle of the new coaches. Alex Golesh and Jon Sumrall know each other from their time in the American. Both are now in the SEC and ready to do battle at Jordan Hare. The Gators have looked explosive early, while Auburn has struggled to put a full game together. This one is prime second-screen viewing for the main event.
Pick: Florida - No. 7 LSU at No. 8 Ole Miss: Oxford will be the place. It will be Must See TV on Saturday night when Lane Kiffin heads back to The Sip. Don’t focus too much on LSU’s slow start last week. Lane and his staff will be locked in and focused. Lane wants this one to prove a point. This one is close early, but Lane makes it crooked late.
Pick: LSU
