JACKSONVILLE, Fla.  — Georgia football won its fifth straight against Florida on Saturday, Nov. 1, with a 24-20 victory in EverBank Stadium.

It’s the Bulldogs’ longest winning streak against their rivals since six in a row under Vince Dooley from 1978-1983.

Here’s how we graded the Bulldogs, who improved to 7-1, 5-1 in the SEC

Georgia football offense: C+

Georgia averaged 5.3 yards per play. The Bulldogs didn’t complete a pass longer than 20 yards in the first half, but Gunner Stockton but went 20 of 29 for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns with an interception. A Drew Bobo errant snap ended up with a possession with a three-and-out for Georgia. Zachariah Branch had 10 catches for 112 yards.

Georgia football defense: B-

Florida was held to 281 yards and 3-of-11 on third down and the Bulldogs got a huge fourth-down stop from Elijah Griffin. The Gators scored on a 4-yard touchdown when Eugene Wilson got behind safeties KJ Bolden and JaCorey Thomas. Florida gained just 14 yards on its first seven carries with CJ Allen and Bolden leading the way, but Florida finished with 115 yards rushing on 32 carries.

Georgia football special teams: C

Brett Thorson had a 24-yard punt that Florida took advantage of by hitting a touchdown pass on the next play but he booted a 66-yard punt later. The Bulldogs gave up a 36-yard kickoff return. Peyton Woodring connected on a 39-yard field goal.

Georgia football coaching: B-

Give credit to piecing together the parts on defense when several players went down with injuries and safety KJ Bolden was ejected for targeting. On offense, the Bulldogs were held to 10 points in the first half when deep shots couldn’t connect, but Georgia finished with four offensive plays of 22 yards or more.

Georgia football overall: B-

Georgia had 7 penalties for 65 yards, including two on a first-half drive into Florida territory when the Bulldogs had to punt after a false start for Gunner Stockton for clapping too demonstratively. Georgia avoided the upset to a team with an interim coach by again by getting a go-ahead touchdown and holding the Gators to a field goal on its last three possessions.
