Growth of Mariyon Dye detailed at Tennessee in 2026

Tennessee sophomore defensive lineman Mariyon Dye has recorded seven tackles, five tackles for a loss and four sacks in four games in 2026.
In Week 5, first-year LEOs coach Andrew Jackson discussed the growth of Dye this season.
"I think the number one thing for Mariyon is the confidence," Jackson said. "He's playing a lot more relaxed. He's not putting as much pressure on himself, and again, just the small details, right step, good stance, proper eye placement. Just repeating those things over and over again has led to him playing better and more confident."
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound sophomore appeared in seven games for the Vols as a freshman in 2025. He totaled eight tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss and one sack.
Dye committed to Tennessee over Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue. He is from Elkhart High School in Elkhart, Indiana.
