Pooh Shiesty, who is signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, is accused of kidnapping the Atlanta rap star to force himself out of his contract.

Gucci Mane has been named as one of the victims in a federal kidnapping case, where the alleged kidnapper was his 1017 Records signee, Pooh Shiesty.

Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty may be facing prison again following his arrest by the FBI on Wednesday morning (April 1). The Department of Justice is accusing nine individuals, including him, his father, and another rapper, Big30, of robbing and kidnapping three music industry professionals at gunpoint at a studio in Dallas, Texas, one being 1017 Records founder Gucci Mane.

The DOJ said in a press release that three music industry professionals were invited to Dallas on Jan. 10 by Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Denell Williams Jr., to discuss the terms of his recording contract with one of the music industry professionals. Instead, Pooh Shiesty, along with “eight other co-conspirators,” allegedly performed a “coordinated armed takeover.”

According to the press release, Pooh Shiesty “produced an AK-style pistol and forced one of the victims to sign a release from the recording contract at gunpoint.” The other eight defendants allegedly robbed the victims at gunpoint, taking Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, and other high-value items.

“As alleged, nine defendants travelled to Dallas, Texas, to kidnap and rob victims who thought they were coming into town for a business meeting, said Ryan Raybould, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, in a statement. “Instead of discussing business in a civil matter, the defendants resorted to violence and intimidation to achieve their purported business objectives.”

FBI agents reportedly paid a visit to Pooh Shiesty’s home in Cordova, Tennessee, to conduct a search, per Fox 13 Memphis. The rapper was not home and was arrested in Dallas that same day.

Gucci Mane signed the 26-year-old rapper to 1017 Records in 2020, after he started gaining traction online with songs like “At It Again” and “Main Slime.”

Previously, Pooh Shiesty served a 63-month sentence for shooting a man in a hotel in Florida in 2023 and was released from a Pennsylvania federal prison last October. Gucci Mane confirmed after his release that the “Back in Blood” rapper was still signed with 1017.

Pooh Shiesty was living in a residential reentry facility in Dallas and was set to stay there until April 11, per Realtor.com. He may have been living there following a more recent arrest in Texas.

If convicted, Pooh Shiesty and every other defendant named will face a life imprisonment sentence.
