It’s July 4th, the day we celebrate one of history’s earliest and most impactful conference realignments. The decision by our founding fathers that the British Empire’s revenue sharing model just wasn’t for them, and became the Notre Dame of the Western Hemisphere, geopolitically speaking.

Their fateful decision saved us from a number of indignities, such as taxation without representation, and having to pretend to care about cricket. It also secured your right to bark at Georgia Tech fans in your own home, and the freedom to point out that Tennessee hasn’t won anything in football since before any of their current players were born, or in some cases before their current players’ parents had graduated from junior high.

And while it may be true that King Charles attends University of Georgia games on those rare occasions when he attends college football games, you’re allowed to be a fan of a different college football team. Because in this country we protect the freedom to be a blooming idiot, or even a Florida Gator fan.
So today, enjoy a burger and a brew, knowing that we at Dawg Sports are thankful for the freedom of the (digital) press, and that we’re glad you exercise your right to congregate peacefully in this space.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
