Week 11 of the 2025 college football season has arrived and the Heisman Trophy race this year feels a lot closer than it did a season ago. As we look at the latest Heisman odds today, the most coveted individual award in the nation is up for grabs entering a critical slate of college football games today.

Based on the Heisman odds right now, let’s dive into our latest Heisman Trophy candidates rankings.

1. Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama Crimson Tide – (+350)

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson isn’t the Heisman Trophy front-runner, but he would unquestionably be our top pick right now. The first-year starter is on an outstanding pace this season, entering Week 11 with 22 total touchdowns and 1 interception on the year. There also has to be something said for the quality of his wins, delivering victories over Georgia, Vanderbilt and Missouri with two of those coming on the road. In his four-game stretch versus ranked SEC opponents, Simpson totaled 1,069 passing yards (267.3 yards per game), completed 69 percent of his passes, averaged 8.3 yards per attempt and recorded 10 total touchdowns. No one has more wins versus ranked opponents than Simpson and he could add to that total in two weeks against the Oklahoma Sooners.

2. Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana Hoosiers – (+220)

Even after a relatively quiet performance versus Maryland (1-1 TD-INT and 201 passing yards), Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza still boasts the second-best Heisman odds today. Mendoza entered Week 11 ranked third nationally in ESPN QBR (90.0) and he’s posted a 90-plus QBR in six of his last seven contests. On top of that, the Hoosiers quarterback is 2-0 versus top-10 teams this season, sporting a 6-1 TD-INT line with 482 passing yards combined versus Illinois and Oregon. What does knock Mendoza down slightly is the fact that he’s thrown an interception in four of his last five games and he’s supported by an Indiana defense that ranks third nationally in points per drive allowed (0.99).

3. Julian Sayin, QB, Ohio State Buckeyes – (+175)

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin. Heading into Week 11, Sayin ranked third nationally in passing touchdowns (23), second in yards per pass attempt (10.0), and first in both completion rate (80.7 percent) and QBR (90.9). While he’s thrown 3 interceptions this season, all of them came within his first three starts. Since settling down, he boasts a 15-0 TD-INT line in the last five games and sports an 82.3 percent completion rate over his last seven starts. What pushes Sayin to third in our Heisman Trophy candidates rankings is the simple fact that he’s faced just two ranked opponents and he put up just 292 total passing yards with 3 touchdowns in those games. Furthermore, he’s playing on the most stacked roster in college football with the best receiving corps and defense in the nation.

4. Marcel Reed, QB, Texas A&M Aggies – (+650)

Marcel Reed has delivered in big games this season, and that’s a common theme among Heisman Trophy winners. The Texas A&M Aggies quarterback put up 397 total yards with 2 touchdowns in a 41-40 shootout victory at Notre Dame. In October, he delivered 4 total touchdowns and 333 total yards in a 45-42 win at Arkansas, and then he trounced LSU in Death Valley for 310 total yards and 4 total touchdowns in a 49-25 win. The passing numbers (17-6 TD-INT, 61.4 percent completion rate, and 155.5 passing yards per game) aren’t great, but it matters far more that he’s helped carry the Aggies’ defense to three big road wins this season. If he can beat Mizzou (Week 11) and Texas (Nov. 13) on the road, he might need to be the Heisman favorite.

5. Gunner Stockton, QB, Georgia Bulldogs – (+2500)

Right now, it’s a four-man Heisman Trophy race, and Gunner Stockton is just in the ‘Also Receiving Votes’ category. The Georgia Bulldogs quarterback has been very good this year, ranking fourth in ESPN QBR (89.0) with 19 total touchdowns (12 passing, 7 rushing) and just 2 interceptions. He’s got a bit of everything on his resume, from stellar performances versus a ranked team (5 total touchdowns in a win over Ole Miss) to playing an essential role in road victories against Tennessee and Auburn. The head-to-head loss at home against Ty Simpson’s Crimson Tide is really what’s keeping him from being taken more seriously right now.
