Here's what Athens-area football players did for Georgia vs. Western Kentucky

The recent graduates from the Athens area were bright spots on the field for Georgia football during the Bulldogs' gloomy and wet 70-20 win over Western Kentucky.

Freshman outside linebacker Khamari Brooks (North Oconee) collected a fumble recovery at the WKU 16-yard line after Western Kentucky redshirt freshman quarterback Rodney Tisdale Jr. lost it at the 21-yard line. He also was credited with one tackle.

Three plays later, sophomore wide receiver Landon Roldan (North Oconee) scored his first career touchdown on a 9-play run up the right. He capped a 3-play, 16-yard drive that lasted one minute and 20 seconds and put the Dawgs up 49-0 over the Hilltoppers with 5:51 to go in the second quarter. His score tied the program record for most points in a half.

"Landon's a talented young man that works hard," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said. "He's fast. He makes competitive catches. He's smart and disciplined."
