It is so very difficult to win at Autzen Stadium. Oregon owns a 45-3 record at home since 2019 including several blowouts and wins over ranked opponents.
It was here, deep in the woods of the southern tip of the Willamette Valley, where Indiana football found its proving ground under Curt Cignetti. His first team fell to the previous top opponents it faced on the road, Ohio State and Notre Dame, and flew west looking to prove a point. As the Hoosiers prepped to take on the Ducks in their vaunted home stadium, Curt Cignetti had this to say of a pregame prayer tradition that was briefly forgotten in the pomp and circumstance of the matchup
“Fuck it,” Cignetti responded to a reminder from strength coach Derek Owings. “Pray for Oregon.”
