The Oregon Ducks struggled mightily against the USC Trojans‘ passing attack in Week 13, as they allowed a season-high 306 passing yards to Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava. Standouts wide receivers Makai Lemon (two receptions touchdowns) and Ja’Kobi Lane (six catches, 108 yards) also had productive days.
True freshman cornerback Brandon Finney Jr. had been putting together a potential All-American campaign prior to this contest, but committed multiple pass interference penalties and didn’t perform well when the ball was in the air. The depth at the position was on full display, however, as second-string cornerback Ify Obidegwu notched his first career interception.
Obidegwu had his starting spot taken by Finney and Ole Miss transfer Jadon Canady, yet has stuck with the program and continued to make an impact when called upon this season.
That’s not always the case, especially in this day and age of college football.
Let’s take a look at how former Ducks performed around the country in Week 13 — including a cornerback who nabbed an interception on Oregon’s opponent next weekend.
DB Cole Martin
Cole Martin had four tackles, an interception and returned two kickoffs for a total of 43 yards in UCLA’s 48-14 loss to Washington.
QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele
Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele completed 33 of 49 passes for 269 yards in Cal’s 31-10 loss to Stanford.
LB Emar’rion Winston

RB Byron Cardwell Jr.
Byron Cardwell Jr. carried the ball two times for eight yards in San Diego State’s 25-3 victory over San Jose State.
DB Collin Gill
Collin Gill had four tackles in Charlotte’s 35-3 loss to Georgia.
RB Dante Dowdell
