After some drama went down in the SEC this weekend, the Big Ten’s stranglehold on the top two spots in the US LBM Coaches Poll continued in Week 13. Ohio State and Indiana continue to hold the top spots in the coaches poll after each won by comfortable margins this weekend, thus setting up a possible No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown in the Big Ten championship game in a few weeks.
Ohio State remains on top of the coaches poll with 61 first-place votes favoring the Buckeyes. Indiana is still No. 2 despite not receiving a single first-place vote. Indiana stays ahead of No. 3 Texas A&M, which received two first-place votes despite being down 30-3 in the first half against South Carolina before mounting a major comeback.
Oregon moved up to No. 5 in this week’s poll after a win over Minnesota. The Ducks were among the teams taking advantage of Alabama sliding six spots after losing at home to Oklahoma.
Other Big Ten teams in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll include No. 16 USC, which moved up two spots, and No. 17 Michigan. Illinois, Washington, Iowa, and Nebraska are all among the teams also receiving votes this week.
Penn State will host Nebraska on Saturday night in Week 13. The Cornhuskers may not be ranked, but should still be a viable threat as Penn State battles to keep bowl eligibility hopes alive going into the final week of the regular season.
