USA TODAY Sports projected the record for every Big Ten football team heading into the 2026 season. The pundits have spoken and believe Nebraska will finish the regular season with a 7-5 record.

This record included a 4-5 mark in conference play. Interestingly enough, the Huskers sit in the middle of the pack in Paul Myerberg and Ramon Padilla’s rankings. Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Penn State, Washington, Indiana, Oregon, and Ohio State ranked ahead of Nebraska.

The Huskers will face several of those teams on their 2026 schedule. Indiana, Oregon, and Ohio State are the big names of that bunch. Washington should also be able to challenge the program. In addition to the elite teams they face, they will also take on Illinois and Iowa, who are ahead of them.

If anything, these conference records signify that Nebraska will have its work cut out for it this upcoming year. 7-5 seems like a respectable and reasonable prediction. Many Husker fans would probably be happy with that given the schedule.
