The Mustangs (3-1) offense has been nothing short of spectacular so far this season. They are second in the country in total offense (550.8 yards per game) and top of the country in passing offense (392.5 YPG). They’re averaging 37 points per game, led by quarterback Kevin Jennings. The veteran signal caller has thrown for nearly 1,500 yards, 12 touchdowns, and is completing 77 percent of his passes.
That’s a lot for the Eagles (2-2) to overcome, so both their offense and defense needs to be at their best. On the offensive side of the ball for Boston College, quarterback Mason McKenzie has 363 rushing yards, which is sixth-best in the ACC and in the Top 30 nationally. The last time a Boston College quarterback had at least 363 rushing yards after four games was Tyler Murphy in 2014.
In last year’s matchup SMU beat Boston College 45-13. Jennings led the way with 326 yards passing and three touchdowns. Boston College was outscored 28-7 in the second half.
