Jayden Maiava threw three touchdown passes, two to Trent Mosley, in a 39-0 blanking of visiting Fresno State on Sept. 4. Maiava finished 23-of-25 for 349 yards, completing four throws for 104 yards to Mosley while Kayden Dixon-Wyatt picked up 102 yards on six catches. Waymond Jordan ran for 68 yards and a score on 11 carries and the Trojan defense held the Bulldogs to only 116 yards.
Louisiana rolled to a 38-7 victory over visiting Lamar from the FCS last Saturday night, rolling up 243 yards and five touchdowns on the ground while Lanar Kelley scored on a 40-yard interception return. Darrell Smith had two TDs while picking up 84 yards on 10 carries while quarterback Lunch Winfield finished with 84 yards and a touchdown on eight attempts while completing 16 of 22 passes for 189 yards with two interceptions.
The teams meet for the first time on Saturday night with USC coming off a 9-4 season that ended with an overtime loss to TCU in the Alamo Bowl. Louisiana finished 6-7 in 2025 with a loss to Delaware in the 68 Ventures Bowl.
