The LSU Tigers are back home after a tough weekend in Lexington as the No. 16-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs come to Baton Rouge for an early kickoff.

What looked like it might be another tough matchup has certainly eased up over the past few days as it now looks like star Bulldogs quarterback Kamario Taylor and running back Fluff Bothwell are not likely to suit up.

The Tigers are now expected to take on walk-on redshirt freshman Parker Puckett. Puckett beat out both former LSU backup AJ Swann and Georgia Bulldogs backup Jaden Rashada. It's clear that he's better than the average quarterback, but the idea of this front seven against a walk-on is exciting.

That's not to say that the Tigers can just completely disregard Mississippi State, but it certainly makes it seem like an easier matchup. The betting lines reflect that, as it is pretty much expected to be a three-possession win for LSU. That would certainly help the confidence bounce back after last week. They still have to go out there and execute, though.
