ESPN College GameDay with Marcus Mariota as the guest picker are in town, so that must mean this is a big one.

It certainly is, as both Oregon and USC have playoff aspirations, and those would vanish into thin air with a loss for either side. Although the Ducks are currently ranked seventh in the latest CFP, a second loss would most likely dropped them out of a playoff spot with just one more regular season game on the schedule. There wouldn’t be enough time to make up for the loss unless there’s some chaos, which is highly unlikely, but you never know.

As for the Trojans at 8-2, they are currently ranked 15th, and a win would most likely propel them forward into some kind of playoff spot. A loss would erase any hope of a postseason for the Trojans, making them even more desperate for a win than the Ducks are.
