GAME NOTES
ABOUT THE GAME
- Coming off a bye week, TCU is set to face Baylor as it looks to get back into the win column.
- It will be the 122nd all-time meeting between the two schools, the most played college football rivalry in the state of Texas.
- TCU leads the all-time series 60-54-7, including a 30-25-1 mark in Waco.
- Under Dykes, TCU is 11-4 when it has had at least one extra week of preparation, with a 5-1 mark away from home in such games.
- The Horned Frogs have won nine of the last 11 meetings in the rivalry, a stretch which has included a pair of overtime games and six one-score games. The last two games in Waco ended in walk-off field goals, one for each side.
- The game is also one of the four protected games in the Big 12’s scheduling model.
BAYLOR NOTES
- Winners of four straight, Baylor will return to McLane Stadium to host rival TCU on Saturday.
- The Bears are coming off an idle week that followed a four-game winning streak, with the most recent win, a 55-19 rout at Arizona State, handing the Sun Devils just their third loss in the last 15 home games.
- Baylor has held five straight opponents to 20 points or less to open the year, the longest such streak since 1966. Baylor’s stretch of five straight with 20 or less allowed is the longest streak since 1986.
- BU is in the seventh year under Coach Dave Aranda, a former national champion defensive coordinator for LSU’s 2019 15-0 season, and long considered one of the top defensive minds in college football. Aranda led the Bears to the best season in program history in his second year, 2021, a school-record 12-2 year that culminated in the Big 12 Championship and the Sugar Bowl, and he was named the national coach of the year
