Is Georgia the team to beat in the SEC?
It’s been four years since the Dawgs back-to-back National Championships. Not to mention, they’ve made the College Football Playoff in each of the last two seasons and were eliminated in the quarterfinals each year.
Unfortunately for Georgia, since their last title reign, plenty of teams in the conference have taken significant strides in catching up to it.
Texas has retained Arch Manning for the 2026-27 season and also brought in the top wide receiver in the portal, Cam Coleman. LSU hired Lane Kiffin and signed QB Sam Levitt and offensive tackle Jordan Seaton to round out their conference-leading transfer portal class. Ole Miss was able to bring back Trinidad Chambliss and also sign four-star freshman transfer QB Deuce Knight.

Not to mention, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and several others have also made positive moves as of late.
For the immediate future, they have a top-10 2026 recruiting class to look forward to. Also, as long as Kirby Smart is at the helm, they should remain at the head of the table unless drastic changes are to hit.
