USC enters the contest with a 5-1 record, looking to strengthen its College Football Playoff résumé following a hard-fought 25-21 victory over Washington. The Trojans have established themselves as one of the Big Ten’s most dangerous offensive teams, averaging 37.3 points and 467.8 total yards per game.
Quarterback Jayden Maiava has been instrumental in their success, leading a passing attack that averages more than 300 yards per contest. With their only loss coming against Oregon, the Trojans have an opportunity to earn an important road victory and remain in the conference championship race.
Penn State has experienced a disappointing start to Big Ten play, entering Saturday’s matchup with a 3-2 overall record and an 0-2 mark in conference action. The Nittany Lions are coming off consecutive losses to Wisconsin and Northwestern, including a 34-13 defeat against the Wildcats. First-year head coach Matt Campbell will look to turn things around in one of college football’s most intimidating environments, with quarterback Rocco Becht leading the offense.
Penn State also has history on its side, having defeated USC 33-30 in overtime during their last meeting in 2024. With the White Out crowd behind them, the Nittany Lions will look to revive their season by knocking off a ranked opponent.
