How to watch Wisconsin vs. No. 12 UCLA: TV, live stream, preview for Saturday's game

The first regular-season game in 44 years between Wisconsin and No. 12 UCLA will be the B1G Saturday Night featured matchup on NBC and Peacock.

The Bruins lead 7-4 in the series against the Badgers, but Wisconsin won the past three meetings — all in bowl games (21-20 in the 2000 Sun Bowl; 38-31 in the 1999 Rose Bowl; 21-16 in the 1994 Rose Bowl). The teams' previous regular-season meeting was in 1982 when UCLA won 51-26 in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Badgers (2-0 Big Ten, 4-1 overall) have already matched their 2025 win total and have four consecutive victories since a season-opening loss to Notre Dame, quieting speculation about the future of head coach Luke Fickell.

In their first season under head coach Bob Chesney, the Bruins (3-0, 5-0) are coming off a 17-15 road win over Oregon. UCLA is at its highest ranking in the AP Top 25 poll in nearly four years.

Wisconsin:

The Badgers are coming off a bye week after a 31-3 win at home over Michigan State. Quarterback Colton Joseph, a transfer from Old Dominion, threw three touchdowns and ran for another while leading the team with 141 rushing yards.

Wisconsin is trying to start a B1G season at 3-0 for the first time in seven years while beginning a critical stretch against three ranked teams. USC and Iowa are the next two opponents before closing against Rutgers, Maryland, Purdue and Minnesota.

Behind Joseph, who has passed for 1,132 yards and 10 touchdowns while leading the team in rushing yards and TDs, the Badgers have raised their scoring average by nearly 19 points from last season.

Week 6 absolutely delivered, from a stunning result in Eugene to the upset in the Red River Rivalry game and everything in between.

Wisconsin is expecting the return of running back Abu Sama III, an Iowa State transfer who has missed significant time since the season opener with shoulder and upper body injuries. Fifth-year wide receiver Tyrell Henry has posted career highs in catches (26) and receiving yards (339).

Led by sophomore linebackers Cooper Catalano and Mason Posa, Wisconsin's defense has shined by yielding only two field goals and no TDs on its opponents’ last 20 possessions (dating to a 24-20 win over Penn State on Sept. 26).

UCLA:

Chesney is the first head coach in UCLA history to start 5-0, and his debut has evoked comparisons with Indiana's Curt Cignetti (whom Chesney replaced at James Madison). With only one ranked team (No. 19 USC) remaining on the UCLA schedule, Chesney is poised to follow Cignetti's footsteps by bringing a program to the College Football Playoff in his first season as a Power 4 head coach.

Before Curt Cignetti and Bob Chesney took the Big Ten by storm and became two of CFB’s most unexpected success stories, Jeff Bourne was at the center of it all at JMU.

The Bruins' big win over the Ducks last week came at a huge cost. The Los Angeles Times reported that senior starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava is expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Ty Dieffenbach is expected to start at QB against Wisconsin, and Chesney indicated that Madden Iamaleava, Nico’s younger brother, could also see playing time. In the second half against Oregon, Dieffenbach completed three passes for 43 yards and a touchdown.

“I thought he did a good job," Chesney said. "He threw some really nice, accurate footballs, catchable footballs. He stepped up in the moment where we needed him to, and then at the same point in time, he commanded the offense very well. What got him there is that we’re really looking at this on a week-to-week basis, and he had a really good week of practice. He did a really good job, and he brings a lot to the table.”

Bruins running back Wayne Knight, who followed Chesney from James Madison, leads the Big Ten in rushing TDs (10) and yards per game (109.6). UCLA has more rushing touchdowns (19) this year than the past two seasons combined (12), and its 1,266 rushing yards top last season's total by more than 200 yards.

On defense, the Bruins are led by linebacker Sammy Omosigho, an Oklahoma transfer who leads the team in tackles (42), tackles for loss (7.5), forced fumbles (4) and sacks (3). UCLA specializes in forcing turnovers, racking up seven takeaways (five fumble recoveries and two interceptions) against Oregon.
