One day after shutting down all talk of taking any other college football job, Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer moved with purpose across the Crimson Tide indoor football field.

Clad in a gray hoodie, black sweatpants and a red Alabama baseball cap, DeBoer glided through the Crimson Tide warm up line, stopping to talk with several players as they stretched.

DeBoer joked with Alabama defensive line coach Freddie Roach and a group of assistant coaches in the final moments of the stretching period.

As the individual practice periods began, and “Rooster” by Alice In Chains blared, DeBoer didn’t stay in one place very long, starting with the safeties before sitting at the top of routes at wide receiver drills, forcing each receiver to jog past him before getting back in line.

DeBoer looked locked in, much like his statement said Sunday afternoon.

“We have an incredible opportunity in front of us, so my sole focus is on Alabama football and our preparations to play Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff,” DeBoer said in a statement through Yea Alabama.

Alabama will take on Oklahoma in the first round of the CFP at 7 p.m. CT Friday, Dec. 19 on ABC and ESPN.

Here are a few other takeaways from the first four periods of Alabama’s practice session Monday, Dec. 15 before the CFP.

Jam Miller runs Alabama football drills

Jam Miller was at the front of the drill line with the Alabama running backs after missing the Crimson Tide’s SEC Championship Game loss to Georgia.

Alabama TE Josh Cuevas on an exercise bike

Alabama tight end Josh Cuevas spent the open practice period on an exercise bike and did not participate in position drills.

Alabama DL Kelby Collins back, LT Overton not at practice

LT Overton was not seen with the Alabama defensive line during the open practice session Monday. Kelby Collins worked with the Crimson Tide defensive line.

Kam Dewberry was also working with the first team offensive line.

Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. not seen at Alabama CFP practice

Alabama football defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. was not seen during the practice period. Kirkpatrick has been suspended since the Crimson Tide’s off week at the beginning of November.
