Despite having the weekend off with a bye, Texas Football still moved up in the newest US LBM Coaches Poll. The Longhorns moved up three spots from No. 13 to No. 10 thanks to losses by teams that were ranked above Texas last week. Next Saturday’s matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs now becomes a clash of two Top 10 teams.

The Longhorns are actually tied with the rival Oklahoma Sooners in the 10th spot. Both teams were off this week. Both teams have the same record, though Texas handily won the head-to-head matchup.

The top seven teams in the rankings stayed the same as last week, with Ohio State holding firm at No. 1. The Buckeyes are followed by Indiana, Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, Oregon and Ole Miss. Texas Tech and Notre Dame each jump a spot to round out to the Top 10.

BYU, who got thumped by the Red Raiders, fell four sports down to No. 12. Virginia took the biggest fall this week, plummeting eight spots after getting upset by Wake Forest. Louisville and Missouri also fell six and seven spots respectively.

The SEC has nine teams in the poll, while the Big Ten has five, including the top two. The ACC has five ranked teams, while the Big 12 places four teams in the ranking.
