The state of Ohio knows a thing or two about football, and that is certainly the case when it comes to the Feister brothers of Massillon.
Brayton and Brydon, members of the class of 2027 and 2028, respectively, are two highly touted athletes who have been receiving a ton of recruiting attention throughout the country. They are two monstrous athletes who look like they were built in a lab, and Bret Bielema is trying to get one of them to Champaign with his most recent offer.

Brydon Feister, a 6-foot-4 linebacker and tight end, is a three-star prospect from Massillon High School. He is also ranked as the No. 20 player in the state of Ohio. The rising junior has already fielded 20 FBS offers during his recruiting process from schools including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio State.
The younger Feister is the definition of a pure athlete, as he can play multiple positions on both sides of the ball. As a linebacker/special teams player, he is an elite open field tackler, using every bit of his massive frame and top-notch speed to deliver punishing blows to opposing ball carriers.
Bret Bielema and the Illinois football program could do big things with Brydon Feister on the roster
It is not every day that you can find a player like Feister, let alone two from the same family. He is a dynamic, all-around threat who is fast enough to run a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and strong enough to deliver punishing hits that make opposing ball-carriers think twice about entering his zone again.

If Bielema and the Illini can land the Ohio product in their 2028 recruiting class, then they will have a centerpiece in their defense for years to come. Feister has the potential to be a Swiss-army knife for coach Bobby Hauck's defense, whether it's staying back in coverage or going after the quarterback.
Granted, some people may see him as an under-the-radar prospect now based on his three-star ranking, but when Illinois revisits Feister in two years' time, those people are going to have a completely different tune.
