Nebraska football added an in-state recruit to the class of 2027. Three-star offensive lineman Barrett Kitrell announced his commitment on Monday.

Kitrell is the 87th overall offensive lineman in his class, and the eighth overall player in his class from the state of Nebraska, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. The program beat out the Iowa Hawkeyes for his commitment.

The interior offensive lineman was recruited to the program by new offensive line coach Geep Wade. He has an extensive history with the program.

Kitrell has visited Lincoln five times, with an official visit on June 12. The lineman measures in at six-foot-four, 270 pounds.

This commitment is the 21st overall in the 2027 class. The class ranks 18th nationally, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.

The Huskers have invested heavily in the offensive line in this class, as this is the fifth commitment on the line. The program has done a good job of building its offensive line for the future.
