The search for a commitment in the 2028 recruiting class continues for Florida State after losing three-star wide receiver Lamar Garrison. Sticking with the offensive side of the ball, they have running back recruit Xander Edwards high on their priority list.
FSU is going through their spring practice schedule at the moment, which gives visitors a chance to get glimpse of how the Seminoles do things. On Thursday, Edwards took to social to announce that he would be in Tallahassee on Friday.
"Excited to be back at Florida State tomorrow!," Edwards wrote.
This marks the second time that Edwards has come on campus. He first came on October 11 of last year for an unofficial visit. Five days later, Florida State extended an offer to him.
Edwards had a season for the ages in 2025. He ran for 2,629 yards on 265 carries (9.9 yards per rush) and scored 44 touchdowns, which included 13 games over 100 yards. One of them was against Baldwin High School last September when he set Northeast Florida records for rushing yards with 529 and rushing touchdowns with eight.
His historic sophomore season earned him the Varsity 4 All-News4JAX Offensive Player of the Year award. He also helped Bolles go 14-2 and finish as the FHSAA Class 2A State Runner-Up as they lost the title game to Cardinal Mooney.
Edwards isn't a ranked prospect at the moment, but after the season he had, that should change in the near future.
