In-state WR schedules gameday visit with FSU

The FSU Seminoles already have two players committed to their 2028 recruiting class, but the work is far from over. They are pursuing several in-state targets, including four-star wide receiver Derrell Hines Jr., who is from Tampa.

He has already visited FSU twice this year, attending a spring practice in April and returning for a camp in May. He has now locked in a return trip to Tallahassee and will be in Doak Campbell Stadium on Nov. 21 when the Seminoles host the NC State Wolfpack, according to Zach Blostein of Noles247.

That is not the first time he will see FSU play this season; he will be visiting the Miami Hurricanes on Oct. 17 when FSU heads to Coral Gables. He will also visit the Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Syracuse Orange for games.

Hines is ranked as the No. 96 overall player and No. 15 wide receiver in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 13 player from Florida.

FSU has been recruiting the 6-foot-1, 170-pounder since 2025, and this will be the first time he gets to see the Seminoles play in-person. It will be an important visit as they battle several other top programs for the talented wideout.

The Seminoles currently have commitments from three-star athlete Chayse Brown and three-star tight end Troy Silberzahn in the 2028 cycle. Their commitments give them the No. 13-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports.
