Indiana football adds commitment from one of state's top offensive linemen

Indiana football picked up a commitment Sunday from one of the state’s top-ranked high school offensive linemen.
Noblesville junior Mason McDermott, following his official visit to IU over the weekend, announced his commitment to the Hoosiers. The 6-foot-7, 300-pound McDermott, rated as four-star prospect in the 247sports composite rankings, took an official visit to Northwestern last weekend and had another lined up for UCLA in June.

McDermott posted: “Home. After an incredible OV and conversations with my family, I’m excited to announce my commitment to Indiana Football.”
Indiana now has six commitments in the 2027 class. McDermott is the second in-state commitment, joining Michigan City offensive tackle Jeremiah Jones.
McDermott’s older brother Ransom McDermott is a redshirt sophomore at Temple. He transferred from Louisville in January.
Brownsburg receiver Branden Sharpe is planning to announce his commitment on Monday, choosing between IU, Cincinnati, Purdue and Vanderbilt.
