Indiana football included in first 2025 College Football Playoff rankings

The College Football Playoff’s selection committee unveiled the first set of rankings for the 2025 season during a live show on ESPN Tuesday night. Indiana, ranked No. 2 in both the AP and Coaches’ top-25 polls, debuted at No. 2.

Indiana holds wins over fellow ranked teams No. 9 Oregon and No. 20 Iowa.

The Hoosiers have started 9-0 for the second consecutive season, finishing 11-1 in their breakout 2024 season that included a bid in the first iteration of the playoff’s 12-team format. It was the first season for head coach Curt Cignetti, who has since received a new 8-year contract. With three games remaining in the regular season, Indiana will look to return to the playoff in 2025.

Indiana currently sits at +460 to win the 2025 national championship, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

Indiana is set to return to action at noon on Saturday when the Hoosiers make the trip to State College, Pennsylvania to take on Penn State at Beaver Stadium.
