Curt Cignetti got his sixth commitment from the class of 2027, landing in-state offensive lineman, Mason McDermott. McDermott announced his commitment on Twitter while on his visit to Bloomington this weekend.
Per 247 Sports, McDermott is the fifth best prospect in the state of Indiana, playing at Noblesville High School, and the 27th best offensive tackle in his class. At 6’7” and 285 pounds, he has the body of a college player and could see playing time early with a number of linemen slated to graduate after this year.
McDermott also held offers from Iowa, Florida State, Cincinnati, and BYU, among others, before committing to the Hoosiers. He had taken an unofficial visit to Mizzou, as well.
This looks like a great get for Bob Bostad and the rest of the offensive staff, who will have some holes to fill up front. Clearly McDermott appreciates how Bostad develops offensive lineman, having committed on his visit, which should make him a good fit at Indiana.
