Indiana football lands commitment from FCS cornerback in transfer portal

Indiana football found the talent that propelled the Hoosiers all the way through the College Football Playoff and into the National Championship Game through a relentless approach to scouting and talent development. The Hoosiers found more talent this week, this time from the FCS ranks.

Carson Williams, a freshman defensive back formerly of Montana State, committed to join the Hoosiers out of the transfer portal, he confirmed on Twitter. A cornerback, he’s rated as a 3-star prospect and ranks as the 92nd highest-rated corner and 817th highest-rated prospect overall by the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s spent the past two seasons with the Bobcats, redshirting as a true freshman in 2024 before taking on a starting role in 2025. He previously attended Westfield High School in Houston, Texas.

He’s totaled 48 tackles (35 solo) with nine passes defended and a forced fumble during his time with the Bobcats and was named an FCS Freshman All-American after his standout 2025 season that culminated in the national championship game
