BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football has opened as a 5.5 point underdog against Ohio State in the Big Ten title game this Saturday, Dec. 6.
The over/under for the game is 48.5 points, per BetMGM.
It’s the smallest known point spread for the No. 2 Hoosiers against OSU. The Buckeyes have been favored by double-digits in all but one game (2001) between the teams since 1995. This is the lowest over/under for a game between the teams since 2009.
Ohio State was favored by as many as 40 points against IU in a 2022 matchup the Hoosiers lost 56-14 at Ohio Stadium. They have lost 30 straight games in the series — their last win was in 1988 — and their all-time record against the Buckeyes is 12-81-5.
The only other time Indiana was an underdog this season came when they traveled to Oregon as a 7-point underdog.
