Indiana football vs. Alabama sets College Football Playoff TV ratings record

How many people couldn't believe what they were watching? Could be in the millions.
ESPN has reported College Football Playoff TV ratings, and Indiana's Rose Bowl trouncing of Alabama drew an average of 23.9 million viewers, with a peak of 25.6 million.
That's the most-viewed CFP game of the 12-team era (this is the second year) and had more viewers than 18 of the previous 22 quarterfinal games.
Rose Bowl viewership was up 13% over last year, when Ohio State beat Oregon.
College Football Playoff quarterfinals TV viewership on ESPN
CFP quarterfinal games averaged 19.3 million viewers, up 14% over last season.
- Rose Bowl: IU's win over Alabama drew 23.9 million viewers, with a peak of 25.6 million.
- Cotton Bowl: Miami's win over Ohio State drew 19.0 million viewers, with a peak of 21.6 million.
- Sugar Bowl: Mississippi's win over Georgia drew 18.7 million viewers, with a peak of 21.4 million.
- Orange Bowl: Oregon's win over Texas Tech drew 15.9 million viewiers, with a peak of 19.0 million.
