Indiana’s Curt Cignetti gives health update ahead of CFP National Championship

No. 1-seed Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti spoke with the media through a teleconference on Monday afternoon ahead of next week’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game against No. 10-seed Miami.

He was asked about the Hoosiers’ health following Friday’s 56-22 win over Oregon in the Peach Bowl, which included defensive end Mikail Kamara sitting out for substantial time after getting shaken up a bit.

“We came out really good,” Cignetti said. “Everyone who played in the last game will play in this game.”

Indiana has been through a few injuries in the regular season, with stars like wide receiver Elijah Sarratt and linebacker Aiden Fisher missing games. The Hoosiers’ defensive ends have had the most trouble, with both Kellan Wyatt and Stephen Daley going down with season-ending injuries, causing a few changes to how Indiana plays along the defensive line.

Cignetti’s remarks are a good sign heading into Miami after Indiana’s depth was tested some against Oregon.
