Indiana’s Nick Marsh makes must-see TD to open 2026 college football campaign

The Indiana football program got off to a fast start against North Texas on Saturday.

On Indiana’s opening drive, quarterback Josh Hoover delivered a great back-shoulder pass to wide receiver Nick Marsh, who made one heck of a catch. Marsh turned around and caught the ball with one hand, even though he was being held.

That’s certainly one way to start the season. Indiana is coming off its first college football national title in school history and is trying to repeat this season.

A new addition to the team

This is Marsh’s first season with Indiana after spending the previous two seasons with Michigan State. He finished last season with 59 receptions for 662 yards and six touchdowns, and finished his MSU tenure with 100 receptions for 1,311 yards and nine touchdowns.

He brings big-play ability and more speed to the Indiana wideout room.

2026 expectations

Even though Indiana won it all last season, the program isn’t satisfied. The team wants more and enters the 2026 season as a legit contender to win the Big Ten and national title again.

Things are off to a good start on Saturday as Indiana is up 24-6 on North Texas late in the second quarter. You can watch the rest of the game on FOX. Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt have the call.
