Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes have secured yet another punter from Australia on Wednesday night in the commitment of 19-year-old Boston Everitt.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound 19-year-old from Melbourne will come to the Hawkeyes with all four seasons of eligibility remaining.
“I am extremely honoured and grateful to announce that I will be continuing my premedical studies and playing football on scholarship at the University of Iowa,” Everitt wrote on X.

Everitt joins an Iowa program that is looking to replace Rhys Dakin, who was the Hawkeyes’ punter each of the past two seasons. Dakin punted 106 times for an average boot of 43.9 yards per punt.
But, Dakin followed former Iowa special teams coordinator LeVar Woods to Michigan State, leaving Iowa in need of special teams help.
The Hawkeyes recently elevated Chris Polizzi as its new special teams coordinator after Polizzi served last season as one of Iowa’s defensive analysts.
Polizzi and Iowa also landed transfer portal punter Tanner Philpott, a Division III All-American at Simpson College.
