Iowa football offers 4-star, legacy OL following opener

With the 2026 Iowa football season finally here, the Hawkeyes added a familiar name to their recruitment radar. Iowa offered 2029 in-state offensive lineman Lincoln Walsworth during his game day visit to Iowa's 40-0 shutout win over Northern Illinois at Kinnick Stadium last Saturday.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder from Cedar Falls High School in Cedar Falls, Iowa, is an Iowa legacy as the son of former Hawkeye offensive lineman Joel Walsworth.

Lincoln Walsworth ranks as a four-star, as the nation's No. 44 player, as the No. 5 offensive tackle and as the No. 1 prospect in Iowa in the 2029 class, according to 247Sports.

Iowa is now the second offer that Walsworth has received so far in his recruitment journey, following a June 4 scholarship invitation from Iowa State. However, Michigan State, Kansas State, and Northern Iowa have also checked in on him but have not yet extended an offer.

Iowa has wisely gotten ahead of the curve in Walsworth's recruitment.
