After decommitting from Iowa State following Matt Campbell's decision to depart for Penn State, top 2027 in-state offensive lineman Will Slagle will visit Iowa football on Monday, Jan. 19, per Hawkeye Report's Blair Sanderson.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound lineman from Grinnell High School is an Iowa State legacy, as his father, Don, played football for the Cyclones. A blue-chip talent, Slagle is rated as a four-star, as the nation's 198th overall player, as the No. 10 interior offensive lineman and as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Iowa, per 247Sports.

Iowa offered the talented offensive lineman on March 28, 2025. Slagle currently holds 14 other offers from programs such as Iowa State (re-offered), Notre Dame, Tennessee, and fellow Big Ten foes Penn State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Ohio State.
Rivals ranks Slagle as the nation's No. 18 interior offensive lineman and as the fourth-ranked player in the state of Iowa. Slagle is also slated to visit Penn State on Jan. 31, where he holds a series of 247Sports crystal ball predictions to eventually land with the Nittany Lions.
The Hawkeyes will have their chance to make an impression in his recruitment next week, though. Iowa currently has three commits in its 2027 class from tight end Jaxx DeJean and linebackers Braylon Bingham and Gavin Stecker.
