The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs host the Auburn Tigers in Week 7 of the college football season. Last week, Georgia earned a big-time 20-17 road win over the Alabama Crimson Tide while Auburn had the week off. Georgia can look forward to having its bye week after the Auburn game. Georgia is pretty beat up following six straight weeks of football.
No position group is more beat up for Georgia than running back. It started in the preseason with Dante Dowdell being involved in a serious ATV accident. He is unlikely to return anytime soon this fall.
Georgia's Chauncey Bowens has been ruled out on the SEC availability report after he suffered an injury against Vanderbilt. Georgia's starting running back, Nate Frazier, was a preseason All-SEC pick, but he has not played since suffering a ribs injury in Georgia's SEC opener against Arkansas.
Frazier is not listed on the SEC availability report. However, he had the same status last week against Alabama and did not play. Pain management appears to be an issue for Frazier.
Is Nate Frazier playing today?
Frazier is not listed on the SEC availability report, which will be updated 90 minutes before kickoff. Frazier has not dressed for the last three games, but did not play. At this point, we do not expect Frazier to play since he was in the same situation last week.
"No Nate Frazier on the report for Georgia, which doesn't necessarily mean he's playing as he wasn't listed for Alabama and didn't play," ESPN's Pete Thamel said.
Speedster Dwight Phillips and Bo Walker will play the majority of snaps with Frazier out. Georgia's offensive line has been outstanding this season and the Bulldogs have ran the ball effectively every week.
Georgia running back statistics
- Dwight Phillips: 37 carries for 280 yards and one touchdown
- Nate Frazier: 26 carries for 211 yards and five touchdowns
- Bo Walker: 30 carries for 203 yards
- Chauncey Bowens: 35 carries for 124 yards and six touchdowns
