Texas Tech football, in the midst of one of its best seasons in program history, gets a much-needed week off before its regular season finale.
The No. 7 Red Raiders (No. 5 CFP) have won four consecutive games in dominant fashion after falling to Arizona State 26-22 on the road. Their defense has been particularly impressive, and they're in the driver's seat for a College Football Playoff and Big 12 championship game berth.
Texas Tech has two of the best defenders in the country in edge rusher David Bailey and linebacker Jason Rodriguez. Bailey leads the country with 12.5 sacks this season while Rodriguez has 97 total tackles, four interceptions and seven forced fumbles on the year.
Texas Tech went big in the transfer portal, and it has certainly worked out so far.

The Red Raiders have an extra week to prepare for their regular season finale against West Virginia, team Texas Tech should be heavily favored over.
Texas Tech's first off week of the regular season came on Saturday, Sept. 27, after its game against Utah and before its game against Houston.
