Is there a Wisconsin football game today? Badgers schedule, standings

NCAAF College Football News, Photos, Stats, Scores, Schedule & Videos...

The Wisconsin football team entered both of its bye weeks last year following losses and as part of losing streaks.

This year, the Badgers have only one bye and they’re entering it in a much different situation. A much better situation, to be exact.

Yes, that’s right, Luke Fickell’s team is on a roll as winners of four straight, its longest winning streak in five years and with renewed confidence not seen around Madison in several seasons.

After finishing their nonconference schedule with two home wins, the Badgers began Big Ten play by stunning Penn State, 24-20, behind a double-digit comeback. UW followed it up by crushing Michigan State, 31-3, at home last week.

Can Wisconsin keep the winning ways going the rest of the season?

The bye may actually have been in an ideal spot and not because the team has to recover physically or mentally from defeats but just with what the team has coming up.

Its will have a three-game stretch facing teams currently ranked in the top 25.

After playing the undefeated UCLA Bruins next week at the Rose Bowl, the Badgers return home to play the other LA school, USC, before squaring off against Iowa on the road.

Until then, the Badgers get a well-earned week off.

Here’s what to know about Wisconsin’s next game, schedule, the Big Ten games this weekend and standings:

What time is the Wisconsin football game today?

Wisconsin football does not play on Saturday, Oct. 10.

The Badgers have a bye during Week 6 of the college football season.

When is Wisconsin football's next game?

The Badgers’ next game is against UCLA on the road in Los Angeles on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The game time hasn’t been announced.

The schools haven’t met since they played in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 29, 2000. Before that, the Badgers and Bruins squared off twice in the Rose Bowl in the 1990s.

UCLA joined the Big Ten Conference for the 2024 season, along with Washington, Oregon and USC. The Bruins are the last of those four teams the Badgers had yet to play since the realignment.

The 2026 Bruins are off to an undefeated start to the season thanks to an explosive offense.

UCLA scored over 50 points in each of its first two Big Ten games and its 44.8 points per game are second-most in the conference. Only Oregon, the team the Bruins play this week, average more points.

The Bruins are exceptional in the run game so this should be a point of emphasis for Mike Tressel’s defense. Led by Wayne Knight, UCLA leads the conference with 281.5 yards per game.

Bob Chesney is in his first year as head coach at UCLA. He spent the previous two years at James Madison where he led JMU to the College Football playoff in 2025.

Big Ten football games this weekend

Fifteen of the 18 conference teams are in action this weekend with Northwestern going out of conference for their game on Saturday, Oct. 10. In addition to Wisconsin having a bye, Michigan and Rutgers are also off in Week 6.

The UCLA (4-0) vs. Oregon (3-1) matchup is the only game that features two-ranked teams squaring off. But the Indiana-Nebraska game also features two teams that have yet to lose this season. Both have 5-0 records.

Iowa and Washington kicked off the slate of games on Friday, Oct. 9, with the Hawkeyes running all over the Huskies under the lights in Seattle to improve to 5-1 overall. Washington remained winless in Big Ten play. Senior running back Kamari Moulton rushed for a career-high 208 yards with two touchdowns as the Hawkeyes jumped out to a 27-0 lead in the second quarter. On the other side, Washington had a total of -3 rushing yards.
