With the 2025 Jackson State football season over, the coaching staff will looking at retooling the roster through the transfer portal.
The Tigers went 9-3 this season, losing to Prairie View A&M in the SWAC Championship game. Transfers played a key role in the success for coach T.C. Taylor and that’s likely to be the case again in 2026.
The transfer portal window will be open from Jan. 2-16. The spring transfer window has been eliminated. Players around the country have already begun announcing their intentions to enter the portal.

Who Jackson State football has added in the transfer portal
No players have committed to Jackson State. The transfer portal does not open until Jan. 2.
Jackson State football players who’ve entered the transfer portal
Ethan Terrell, QB
Terrell announced on Dec. 9 that he’s entering the transfer portal. The redshirt freshman did not play in any games at Jackson State.
Jackson King, OL
King announced on Dec. 8 that he’s entering the transfer portal. He did not see any action in 2023 or 2024 and was not listed on the Tigers’ 2025 roster.
Devin Love, OL
Love announced on Dec. 8 that he’s entering the transfer portal. The redshirt freshman’s only appearance at Jackson State was against Alabama A&M in 2024.
Ahmad Miller, RB
Miller announced on Dec. 8 that he’s entering the transfer portal. As a redshirt sophomore this season, Miller led the SWAC in rushing with 1,054 yards. He also rushed for six touchdowns and named a first team All-SWAC selection.
Isaiah Villanueva, OL
Villanueva announced on Dec. 8 that he’s entering the transfer portal. He’s a redshirt junior who started his career at North Texas and transferred to JSU in 2024. He played in all 12 games this season, starting two at center and two at left guard.
