Jackson State's Ahmad Miller, who led SWAC in rushing, to enter transfer portal

Jackson State football‘s top running back Ahmad Miller announced his intention to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 8 on social media.

With 1,054 yards, Miller was the Tigers’ leading rusher this season. He led the SWAC in rushing yards and ranked 16th in FCS. Miller also rushed for six touchdowns and caught five passes for 26 yards. He was named a first team All-SWAC selection.

Miller announced his decision on X, writing “I am truly grateful for the time I’ve spent at Thee Jackson State University. … I am truly blessed to be apart of this Tiger family and to have played here.”

In his last game with JSU, Miller rushed for a season-low 27 yards with one touchdown on 13 carries in the Tigers’ 23-21 loss to Prairie View A&M in the SWAC Championship game on Dec. 6.

Miller was listed as a redshirt sophomore on the Tigers’ roster and will have two years of eligibility remaining. There is one transfer portal for this cycle, open Jan. 2-16.

In his career at JSU, Miller played in 25 games, rushing for 1,365 yards and nine touchdowns, and he had 13 receptions for 61 yards.

Miller is from Memphis, Tennessee, and played at Whitehaven High School.
