It was unrealistic to expect that Michigan football wouldn’t lose some players to the transfer portal after all of the tumult in Ann Arbor over the past week, and the Wolverines now have their first entry since Sherrone Moore was fired. However, it was somewhat expected inclusion regardless of Moore’s status.

According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Michigan quarterback Jadyn Davis, who had served as the primary backup for starter Bryce Underwood, is planning to enter the transfer portal. He will have three years of eligibility remaining at his future school.

Originally a five-star recruit at the time of his commitment, Davis plunged in the rankings before he officially made his way to Ann Arbor. In his freshman year, he was behind Davis Warren, Alex Orji, and Jack Tuttle, but was the primary backup in 2025. He only had one snap in 2024, a handoff for a touchdown against Northwestern. This season, he saw more playing time, but only attempted two total passes — one being an interception and the other an incompletion.
