It’s been a busy week for New Mexico State football.
The Aggies are now up to 14 transfer arrivals after earning several from power conference teams and FCS schools alike. Eight are coming on offense, five arrive on defense and one signs on special teams.
NM State also hired UTSA’s Siddiq Haynes to be their new defensive line coach.
This is the last week players can enter their names into the transfer portal, as it officially closes on Jan. 16. Players can still transfer to other schools after that date if they have entered their name.
Here’s a recap of what’s happened for the Aggies in the portal since Jan. 9:
Aggies snag power conference skill players on offense
Stanford wide receiver Myles Libman and Iowa running back Terrell Washington Jr. announced their transfers to NM State on Jan. 11 and Jan. 13, respectively.

In 2025, Libman caught seven passes for 84 yards and one touchdown, and Washington Jr. tallied 98 rushing yards and 18 receiving yards. Both were standout high school players, with Libman becoming a U.S. Army All-American and Washington Jr. winning MVP in his district as a senior, and they will look to showcase their talents more with the Aggies.
NM State also earned a commitment from Oklahoma State tight end Carson Su’esu’e on Jan. 14. He only played two games for the Cowboys in 2025.
Same story. New chapter, Blessed 🙏🏽.

NM State signs two intriguing OLs
Columbia center Mark Chapman and Wofford interior offensive lineman Luke Moise announced their transfers to the Aggies on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13, respectively.

— Luke Moise (@LukeMoise51) January 14, 2026
Chapman has the potential to be a key player for NM State. He led all Ivy League offensive linemen with an 82.4 Pro Football Focus run-blocking grade and ranked fifth among Ivy League offensive linemen who played 20% or more of their team’s snaps with an 81.9 PFF pass-blocking grade.
Moise is versatile, able to play left guard and center. Among Southern Conference offensive linemen who played 20% or more of their team’s snaps in 2025, Moise ranked fifth with a 68.6 PFF run-blocking grade.
Pride retracts name from portal
TJ Pride tested the waters, but has now decided to return.
The 2024 All-Conference USA freshman announced he would remain an Aggie on Jan. 14 after 12 days in the portal. Pride caught seven passes for 103 yards and one touchdown in 2025.

— Tj pride (@Tjpride2) January 14, 2026
After leading NM State with 374 receiving yards in 2024, Pride saw a decrease in production in 2025. He started the Aggies’ first three games before being relegated to a backup role, mostly due to TK King becoming the slot-receiver starter in his place upon returning from injury against Sam Houston on Oct. 2.
Pride will look to bounce back in 2026.
FCS all-conference honorable mention joins defense
247Sports reported on Jan. 10 that Monmouth cornerback Izzy Clark-White would transfer to NM State.
Monmouth CB transfer Izzy Clark-White has committed to New Mexico State, his reps @DreamMakersTM tell @chris_hummer, @mzenitz and @CodyNagel247. https://t.co/SriFdZL96s
— 247Sports Transfer Portal (@247SportsPortal) January 10, 2026
Clark-White tallied one interception and 10 pass breakups for the Hawks in 2025, earning an honorable mention on the All-Coastal Athletic Association team and a 62.7 PFF coverage grade for his efforts.
Clark-White will play his fourth season of college football in 2026.
A new starting kicker?
Utah Tech kicker Ilya Uvaydov announced on Jan. 12 that he had received and committed to an offer from the Aggies.
Uvaydov was the Trailblazers’ kickoff specialist in 2022, but redshirted the 2023 season. He returned as UT’s primary placekicker and went 23-for-35 on field goals and 47-for-48 on extra points from 2024-25.
Uvaydov went 15-for-22 on field goals and made all 21 of his extra-point attempts in 2025. His longest field goal as a Trailblazer was from 55 yards out.
Reserves leave
While the Aggies have signed several intriguing players, others have also found new homes.
Quarterback Jaylen Patterson, wide receiver Jackson Owens, tight end Adam Parks, offensive tackle Elijah Harvey, center Kai Wheeler, and safety DJ Hill-Smith will play at Sacramento State, Minnesota State, Western Michigan, Southern Utah, Tarleton State, and Jackson State, respectively, in 2026.

None received significant playing time in 2025, although multiple made small contributions. Owens and Parks each caught passes, with the former tallying eight for 81 yards and the latter recording one for seven yards, and Wheeler started the 2025 season as the Aggies’ starting center. He suffered a concussion before the New Mexico game on Sept. 27 and never started another game.
Harvey received snaps in eight games, but only started once when he took the first snap at right tackle in NM State’s final game against Middle Tennessee on Nov. 28.
Linebacker Quincy Davis and cornerbacks Stilton McKelvey and Lanar Kelley Jr. are other backups who have found new teams in the portal, having transferred to Kansas, Baylor and Lamar, respectively.
