Jeremiah Smith, Colin Simmons earn major award after Week 4

Week 4 was great for Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and Texas edge rusher Colin Simmons.
Smith lit up Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 26, finishing with 12 receptions for 217 yards and four touchdowns as the No. 5 Buckeyes rolled to a 42-19 victory. He was unguardable in that game and has been ridiculous to start the 2026 college football season, compiling 33 receptions for 617 yards and seven touchdowns.

He’s arguably the best wideout in the country and is a top contender to win the Heisman Trophy this season.
Simmons was a big reason why No. 1 Texas beat Tennessee, 20-17, in Knoxville on Saturday. Yes, he was given an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for a “peeing” celebration, but he still finished with nine total tackles, 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
Because of these performances, Smith and Simmons were named the Walter Camp National Players of the Week, as reported by On3’s Brett McMurphy on X.
What’s next for Smith and Simmons?
Smith and Ohio State have a major Big Ten test on tap for Saturday when the program travels to Iowa City to play the No. 14 Iowa Hawkeyes. “College GameDay” will also be there to preview the game.
It promises to be a great game, especially after Iowa beat Michigan on the final play last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Simmons and Texas will play unranked Oklahoma in the “Red River Rivalry” game on Oct. 10.
