Former Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt is returning to college football at Jacksonville State. The NCAA informed Jacksonville State it could hire him as an analyst.

Pruitt served as the Vols’ head coach from 2018-20. He was sentenced to a six-year show cause order after a NCAA infractions ruling in 2023. The NCAA charged Tennessee with 18 Level I alleged rules violations in 2022.

On the field from 2018-20, Pruitt compiled a 16-19 record with the Vols and defeated Indiana in the 2020 Gator Bowl.

He also served as a defensive coordinator at Alabama, Georgia and Florida State before becoming a first-time head coach at Tennessee.

Pruitt will serve as an analyst at Jacksonville State under head coach Charles Kelly. Kelly was special teams coordinator and safeties coach at Tennessee in 2018 under Pruitt.

Kelly was hired by Nick Saban at Alabama after one season with the Vols.
