The Buffalo Bills and recently-hired defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard are hiring former Wisconsin Badger Terrance Jamison as their new defensive line coach.
Jamison spent the last five seasons on Bret Bielema’s coaching staff at Illinois, first as its defensive line coach from 2021-22, then as defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator from 2023-25. The former standout lineman played under Bielema at Wisconsin from 2005-07.
Jamison isn’t the only former Badger to join Leonhard’s support staff in Buffalo; Bobby April III left Minnesota to become the Bills’ outside linebackers coach, while Jay Valai left Oklahoma to take their secondary coach position. He also isn’t the only prominent defensive assistant to leave Illinois this offseason, as defensive coordinator Aaron Henry took the co-DC role at Notre Dame.
Wisconsin is not scheduled to play Illinois during the 2026 season. The Fighting Illini’s season will still be worth watching, as Bielema tries to build on a program-best run of success.
